What’s Happenin This Weekend

Big weekend here in good ol’ Winston County. Lots’ of ballgames going on –starting tonight as Weir travels down to Noxapater to take on the Tigers in what could be the final game for both teams. The loser is likely eliminated from any post season play and the winner will have to wait to see the results of other games. The game starts at 7 pm and is broadcast by WLSM. Nanih Waiya is assured post season play as they travel down to South Leake for the final regular season game.
Louisville and Winston Academy are both at home as they begin their post season play. Louisville takes on Amanda Elzy (Greenwood) and the Patriots face Indianola Academy in the first round of playoff games.
There will be some stew stompin goin on - on Main Street in Louisville with activities all day as the community honors our Veterans and tries out some tasty dishes from local competitors. To see a full list of activities – click here. The day starts with a pancake breakfast and bazaar at the First United Methodist Church , followed by a Veteran’s Parade and speakers and entertainment. Stew tasting begins at Noon – be sure & buy a ticket and vote for your favorite. The judging should wrap up around mid afternoon – just in time to head on over to the Louisville Coliseum for a Non-Sanctioned All-Gaited Horse Show held at 3:00pm. This is a benefit for Randy Fulton who was injured in a boating accident several months ago.
Just a couple of other items to mention; Congratulations to Kiley Kirk as he was elected Prosecuting Attorney on Tuesday and….. Don’t forget to set your clocks back (remember Spring forward – Fall back) on Saturday evening before you go to bed unless you feel like you need to be in church an hour early this Sunday. Have a great weekend.

The County Attorney's race is the only in-county race that is contested between Kiley C. Kirk & Taylor Tucker.
